Donald Trump says Meryl Streep is one of the most overrated Hollywood actors while Streep said the President-elect’s comments about a disabled reporter stunned her.

Meryl Streep said it during the acceptance speech for Cecil B DeMille award. 

While giving her acceptance speech for the award, Meryl Streep said she was stunned when Donald Trump heavily imitated a disabled New York Times reporter during one of his campaigns while running for the US presidency.

Meryl Streep said the statement made by Donald Trump gives permission to say the same thing about the disabled. 
In response, Donald Trump said that Meryl Streep is a Hillary Clintons’ supporter that’s why she said that during Golden Globes awards. 

She started by saying there was a performance which stunned her last year. It came when a person vying for the highest office in the US imitated a disabled reporter. She was stunned because it was happening in real life and not in a movie. 

In November, the president elect drew widespread rage from different people when he publicly imitated a New York Times reporter Serge Kovaleski who has a condition which affects movement. 

The reporter disputed claims by the Trump that he saw Muslims in New Jersey celebrate the September 11 attacks by Al-Qaeda. Meryl Streep said that what Donald Trump did on that day could legitimize bullying in different institutions. 

According to Meryl Streep, it was humiliating to see someone as powerful as Donald Trump do such a thing to the New York Times reporter. She saw it as something capable of filtering down to everyone’s life.

She said that everyone loses when powerful people such as Trump use their position to bully others. She said that violence invites violence and disrespect invites disrespect.

She asked the media to ensure that powerful people are held into account and freedom of the media needed more protection than ever.

Donald Trump responded to remarks by Meryl Streep and said that she is a Hillary supporter. He went ahead to say that he was not surprised a bit by attacks by movie people from the liberal side.

The US president elect told The New York that he never mocked anyone. He denied the allegations and said that people like Meryl Streep should not say that he was mocking the reporter. 

Donald Trump later said on social media that Meryl Streep was one of the most overrated actresses in Hollywood.

The other person who also talked about the US president elect was Viola Davie. .the actress who won the best supporting actress award also said something backstage about Trump. She said that Donald Trump win was a clear reflection of what America is.

Hugh Laurie also said something about the president elect in his acceptance speech. 



In one of his statements, Hugh said that the word association is sketchy to some republicans and finished by saying that he was accepting the award on behalf of psychopathic billionaires.
