15 year old girl ‘Katie Rough ‘was judged with murder of a 7 years old kid in Woodthorpe

A 15 year old girl has been charged with murdering a 7 year old girl.

Katie was found seriously injured on a playing field.
Police has reported that the 15 year old girl was also charged with possession of an offensive weapon.

The scene happen at a playing field in the Woodthorpe, North Yorkshire on Monday.

She is yet to appear at York magistrates’ court on Wednesday.
From Katie’s parents and her school comments, the 7 year old girl was kind and thoughtful child.

Alison Rough, the mother of Kate was helpless as she fell to her knees in the street as she cry while asking for help when she saw her child seriously injured.

Rob McCartney spoke to her later asking if she was all right but her response was absolutely NO.

No, no, she’s my little girl’. The distressed mother replied.
Katie was a pupil at Westfield Primary School. Her school mates were being offered emotional support after learning about Katie’s death.

She was kind and thoughtful child, well-liked by staff and her pupils.

With her hardworking spirit, she had showed a creative talent in writing.

The school head teacher expressed her death as a terrible loss as they have send a profound sympathies to her family.

It was a tragic and shocking incident to the city said Jon Stonehouse who is the director of children’s services at city of York Council. From his concern, he said the support was being offered to the school as well as wider community.

As the field where kite’s death incident occurred was popular with dog walkers, the children often used to play during the summer seasons.

On Tuesday, this area was cordoned off as forensic officers examine the scene.

Mourners had been laying flowers in the street throughout the day.
It is a devastation and distressing time to Katie’s family. 
They have requested for their privacy be respected as the investigation into their child’s death continues.
